I used to be okay with heatwaves for several reasons. I was living in Burgas, which has always enjoyed moderate temperatures. I was younger, and used to hide in my bedroom which only gets sunlight in the morning. Good thing about long, tall buildings, with many flats, is they create this airflow which then keeps things a bit more colled between them.
Not anymore though. Sofia is really harsh on its own folk. Since more and more people install air-conditioning (have we got any other choice?), it actually gets hotter and hotter. All I do from noon till 8pm is, virtually, I just sit and stare and can't do anything because I am so stamped out.
